Custom Wood Burn - House Money Box for Wedding

I received a custom order recently.

The customer requested me to burn words on a house money box.

Her idea is so creative! I truly love it.

With her permission, I share this idea with all of you here!

My customer will have wedding soon.

The house is for her upcoming wedding which will be small and at their home. They did not sign up for presents or money.

But if customer has a card for them, they can put it into the house.

The words are full of love and sweet. They are as follows:

'Welcome to our home to celebrate and love.
Your presence is the best gift of all.

If you have a card, please drop it in,
so it be under the roof of this house.'

This wood burning order is quite challenging to me cos I need to burn the above words on a small area. The wood box size is 11 cm (W) x 6 cm (D) x 10 cm (H).

Besides, the house cannot be put on table horizontally cos it has a bottom wood bigger than the bottom of the house.
But luckily, I can finish it successfully. I am satisfied with my work. How do you think?

Wood Burn Heart Box

Don't know starting from when, I like natural wood very much, especially the wood log with skin.

I bought souvenirs made of wood when I travelled to other countries.

I especially like those wood products with words drawn or burnt on it.

Recently, when I bought things from craft shop, I discovered that there was wood-burning tools selling there.

Looking at the price, it was acceptable!

Thus, I bought one set for myself to do some crafts.

I have a new toy! : )

I burned a key ring with encouragement words for my son.

I also burned a cake topper for his birthday cake. He likes playing table tennis.

Decoupage Minions Wood Guitar Music Box

I bought a DIY music box craft kit for my son to do in summer holiday.

The music box is a mini-guitar. That is so lovely!

The music is from the theme song of a Japanese cartoon called 'Castle in the sky'. My son loves it so much!

This music box is easy to make. The shapes are pre-cut. We just need to use glue to stick them together.

Originally, we wanted to draw something on the guitar. But it seems quite difficult to draw tidy lines with acrylic colors as the surface of the guitar is not flat.

Rainbow Popsicle Sticks Pen-holder

I bought a pack of colorful popsicle sticks for my son long time ago.

These sticks are special as they have 'teeth' for building up easily.

I planned to build a small house with my son. But my son did not want that and the pack of sticks was put idle for a long time.

Recently, my son saw the pack again and told me he wanted to make a pen-holder with them.

Oh! What a good idea!

We decided to make a rainbow color pen-holder.

But after finishing it, we discovered that it was too big. Some shorter pencil and pen would lie horizontally under the pen-holder.

Also, we found that it was quite difficult to stick the bottom with a cardboard.

We had to think some way to make some vertical layers and to stick the bottom cardboard tightly.

Finally, we used a few colorful strings to solve the above problems. With strings, vertical layers can be made and they prevent the bottom from falling off.

Also, coloring strings are pretty and creative! We love it so much. How do you think?

How to Decorate / Draw Wood Door Hanger?

In the last Father's Day, my son and I made a special gift to Daddy.

That was a wood door hanger with words of love.

I should share this earlier, but I am busy looking after my son who is on summer holiday.

I am a mom, who does not want to miss any minute to get along with my son. Soon, he will leave me and play with his friends only.

My son and I discussed on what to write on the door hanger first.

I suggested that one side can write, 'Keep Quiet! Daddy is sleeping! Shhh...'

He agreed. In fact, this was for reminding my son not to disturb Daddy when he wants to have a sleep in the bedroom, lol!
