Easy Paper Flowers Crafts – 7 Materials 20 Ideas

It is a good idea to make some paper flowers for your mom on Mother’s Day.

My First Quilling Project: Flowers for Mother’s Day

We bought some colorful papers for quilling in the last summer holiday for my son’s school art project.

After finishing the project, there were still some papers left.

Thus, I tried to do my first quilling project.

Recycle Paper Flower Kids can Make for Mother's Day

It is a good idea to make some flowers for your mom on Mother's Day.

But you don't need to buy color papers to do that.

You can recycle useless papers from egg carton, newspaper / old book, coffee filter, cupcake paper, tissue rolls, kitchen tissues and paper plates.

Below are simple but pretty ideas that kids can make.

Pencil Eraser Stamp and Blank Puzzles

Previously, I saw a craft using punched colorful paper to make a heart. That is so pretty!

 

I tried to make one myself.

 

But I did not use color paper. Instead, I used eraser stamps.

 

I chose to stamp on a blank puzzles, so I can write greeting or secret message on it and let the recipient to put the puzzles together and see the greeting / message.

 

That must by funny and mysterious!

 

 

 

Below are the steps of my work:

1. Use computer to print a heart and cut it out.

2. Use Blu-tack to stick it onto the puzzles. Put very small Blu-tack around the edge of the heart, or you cannot stamp a perfect heart shape.

3. Dip some color on pencil eraser and stamp randomly on the puzzles. I used acrylic color this time.


Tips:

a. Remember to stamp more around the heart, so as to make a perfect heart shape!

b. Try to use different pencil erasers for different colors. Or, you have to wash away the color completely before changing to another color.

c. Make sure one color is dried completely before doing another color.


You can do the same by using fabric colors on tshirt and canvas bags. That is so pretty!

Father's Day Key Holder - You are our Hero!

In this Father's Day, we made a special key holder for Daddy.

We used glass decoration colors to decorate one side of the plastic key holder.

First, we wrote 'You are our Hero!' inside the key holder. We wrote the mirror image of the words.

After letting the words dry completely, we decorated the background.

We used rainbow colors as background. This is my son's favorite when doing crafts.

I think we had put the color too thick. The blue and purple colors are too dark that we hardly see the word 'Hero'.

On the other side of the plastic key holder, we printed and put a small family photo.

That looks so great. Daddy loves it so much!

Why we use the words 'You are our Hero!'? Because we watched the movie 'The Avengers' recently. lol

We have also baked a cake with the same theme. Will post it later.

Rainbow Popsicle Sticks Pen-holder

I bought a pack of colorful popsicle sticks for my son long time ago.

These sticks are special as they have 'teeth' for building up easily.

I planned to build a small house with my son. But my son did not want that and the pack of sticks was put idle for a long time.

Recently, my son saw the pack again and told me he wanted to make a pen-holder with them.

Oh! What a good idea!

We decided to make a rainbow color pen-holder.

But after finishing it, we discovered that it was too big. Some shorter pencil and pen would lie horizontally under the pen-holder.

Also, we found that it was quite difficult to stick the bottom with a cardboard.

We had to think some way to make some vertical layers and to stick the bottom cardboard tightly.

Finally, we used a few colorful strings to solve the above problems. With strings, vertical layers can be made and they prevent the bottom from falling off.

Also, coloring strings are pretty and creative! We love it so much. How do you think?

DIY Minecraft Lego Fridge Magnet Clock

Recently, I found magnet sheet which could be printed in ink-jet printer in a craft shop.

 I bought one to try with my son.

My son likes Minecraft very much recently. He wants to make some Minecraft figures magnets.

We tried to print the figures with the magnet sheet.

But it was failed. I guess it was because our printer does not accept the thickness of the magnet sheet.

But this doesn't matter because the magnet sheet allows us to draw on it too.

However, I chose to print Minecraft figures instead of drawing them because it was difficult to draw the pixels by hand.

We found some Minecraft figures by Google search and then printed them out by color printer.

Then we sticked them onto the magnet sheet and cut accordingly.

The effect is quite good.

My son likes that very much. He always play with the magnet figures.

Below is my experience on using blank puzzles to make greeting cards.

I don't like to buy greeting cards from shops because they are so common.

I prefer to make them by myself.

Last time, I put a photo on the supporting board, drew and signed the puzzles as a birthday card to my Dad. He likes that so much!

Thanksgiving Day is coming. This time I would like to show my love to my mommy.

This time, I put a heart shape paper to cover the central part of the puzzles first.

Then I used foam to make heart stamps in different sizes.

After stamping the hearts randomly on the puzzles, I took away the heart shape paper. There was a big white heart with tidy edge.  I wrote some words inside the white heart.
