Funny Exhibitions for Kids (1)

Recently, we went to the Cultural Museum.

Do not think that the things exhibited in the museum are always boring!

This time the exhibition was so funny. It was totally for kids, about hearing and visual arts.

My son enjoyed this very much!

Bottle Crafts - Water Rocket

In summer holiday, I let my son to learn how to make water rocket in a YMCA class.

The water rocket that can be flied high in the sky after injecting water into the bottle.

But this class truly let me down.

The teacher only demonstrated how to make the nozzle and flied the rocket in the class.

She did not give my son any material to make the nozzle and asked us to buy them ourselves.

That is crazy! The cost of the class should have included the materials necessary for making the water rocket, I assume.

We really don't know where to buy the nozzle. Even if we know, we do not have the tools to cut the bottle cap in order to insert the nozzle.

At last, we give up completing the water rocket for my son!

My son, of course, feel disappointed about that!

But I like the rocket decorated by my son. That looks great, especially using strings to make curves and put circle foams in between the curves. That make it looks special!

Though this rocket cannot fly high in the sky, it is a great toy. My son likes using his hands to fly it. lol!

Bottle crafts - 2013 Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns

There was a big lantern show in a park in last Saturday.

After having dinner with our families (we usually eat with family on this festival), we went to watch that.

Wow! The show was amazing, especially this big dome made by plastic bottles!

The outside wall was made by very big plastic bottles, like those we use in office with taps.

Thousands of small plastic bottles were hanged on the ceiling inside it. That looked so grand!

Recycle plastic bottles - Bowling

One day, my son told me that he has never played bowling and wanted to try that.

But playing bowling in Hong Kong is quite expensive and the balls are quite heavy. He may not strong enough to play that.

Suddenly, I remembered that we had saved some empty plastic bottles for crafts. They could be act as the bottles for bowling.

My son enjoys this, lol!

Save two more plastic bottles will make this bowling game perfect!

Plastic Bottle Recycling - Eating Utensil / Pencil Holder

We stored a lot of used plastic bottles at home.

I discover that besides making kids crafts, it can be used as a eating utensil or pencil holder to save space and make things look more tidy.

At first, I use pen to draw how will the bottle be cut. Then cut it accordingly.

I cut a 2-3 cm diameter hole for hanging on poles or hooks.
